Flemming Cassee, inhalation toxicologist since 1995, is nanomaterial safety and supports government authorities by coordinating and conducting research and providing advice makers. He is professor in Inhalation Toxicology at the Institute for Risk Assessment Sciences at the Utrecht University, the Netherlands. He also leads the Inhalation Toxicology unit at the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) of the Netherlands. He is Editor-in-Chief of Particle and Fibre Toxicology,President Dutch Society of Toxicology and President of the Inhalation and Respiratory Speciality Section of the USA Society of Toxicology. He also chairs the working group on Hazard Identification of the EU Nanosafety Cluster.

Professor Flemming Cassee is an inhalation toxicologist at RIVM. In this position he is involved in research into adverse health effects from airborne particulate matter (fine dust) and gaseous components (e.g. ozone, nitrogen dioxide) in the ambient air. In addition to this, Flemming Cassee is professor of inhalation toxicology at the Institute of Risk Assessment Sciences of the Utrecht University. More recently his focus is also on the safety of nanomaterials.

Dr. Dongsheng Mao joined Applied Nanotech, Inc. in 2001 and is highly experienced in nano-enabled R&D, product development, and commercialization. He is currently the Vice President of Engineering for Applied Nanotech, Inc where he is also involved in management responsibilities and business development. He has 25 years’ experience in advanced materials including 20+ years’ experience in nanomaterials and nanotechnology. He has successfully managed a number of R&D projects. A number of high performance products were already put to the market place based on his effort. Dr. Mao has over 50 scientific publications. He is an inventor of co-inventor of over 40 granted US and PCT patents with more patents pending.

His research interests are composites, fiber reinforced composites, nanocomposites, nanomaterials, electric materials and devices, metallic inks and pastes, thin films, solar energy, etc.

Hans Fecht is Chaired Professor in the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Ulm, Germany, and Director of the “Institute of Micro and Nano-materials". He received his PhD at the University of Saarbrücken in 1984 and became professor at the University of Augsburg after postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the California Institute of Technology, USA. In 1993 he was appointed Full Professor at the Technical University Berlin and in 1997 at University of Ulm. He directs a group of about 30 academics, students, technicians and visitors. He has published more than 450 scientific papers, coordinated numerous national, European and international research projects and (co)organized a number of international workshops, symposia and conferences. Hans Fecht was awarded with the Leibniz Prize of the German Research Foundation (DFG), "Pioneer of Nanotechnology" (Deutsche Bank), the Innovation Award of the Association of German Engineers (VDI) and is member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts. In addition, he is the office director of the EUREKA Cluster Metallurgy Europe.

Dr Kar Seng (Vincent) Teng is an Associate Professor and leads the Nanoelectronics Research Group in the College of Engineering at Swansea University in the United Kingdom. He received his PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Swansea University, and has extensive research experiences in the study of nanoscale electronic materials and devices. This involves the application of nanotechnology in electronics, which has major impact in healthcare, computer, photonic and energy technologies. His group has the expertise in the fabrication and characterisation of nanoscale electronic materials and devices, as well as controlling their properties through surface engineering for novel applications. His funded research includes the investigation of low-dimensional electronic materials, such as graphene, metal-oxide and nitride nanostructures etc., in the development of ultra-sensitive nano-biosensors for the early detection of diseases, short-wavelength lasers for ultra-high density data storage, nano-plasmonics for photovoltaic technology and fabrication of nanoelectronic devices using printing technology etc. He is also a Journal Editor for Fluorescent Materials.

Hari Shanker Sharma, Director of Research (International Experimental Central Nervous System Injury & Repair, IECNSIR), University Hospital, Uppsala University is Professor of Neurobiology (MRC), Docent in Neuroanatomy (UU) and is currently affiliated with Department of Surgical Sciences, Division of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine, Uppsala University, Sweden. Hari Sharma obtained Doctoral Degree in Neurosciences from Banaras Hindu University in May 1982 on “Blood-Brain Barrier in Stress.” Dr. Sharma received German Govt. Prestigious Fellowship Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (1989-1991) to work on hyperthermia induced BBB dysfunction at the ultrastructural level with Professor Jorge Cervós-Navarro (a living “Legend in Neuropathology in Europe”) in Free University Berlin. On his work on hyperthermia Dr. Sharma received the prestigious Neuroanatomy award “Rönnows Research prize” of Uppsala University for “best neuroanatomical research of the year 1996” followed by the Award of the Degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences (Dr Med Sci) of Uppsala University in Neuroanatomy in 1999 and selected for the Best Thesis Award of the Medical faculty, “The Hwassers Prize” of 1999. Dr. Sharma on his research on brain pathology and neuroprotection in different models received the prestigious awards from The Laerdal Foundation of Acute Medicine, Stavanger, Norway, in 2005 followed by Distinguished International Scientists Collaboration Award by National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), Baltimore, MD (2006-2008). His recent works on the role of nanoparticles in Neurodegeneration and Neuroprotection using various treatment strategies is supported by European Aerospace Research and Development (EOARD), London, UK and US Air Force Research Laboratory, Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, Oh, USA. He is awarded Coveted American Neurosurgeon Dr. Anthony Marmarou Award (2011) by the International Brain Edema Society at their 15th Congress in Tokyo, Japan, November 20-24, 2011 for his works over 30 years on the blood-brain barrier and brain edema. His works on Nanoneuroscience and development of nanomedicine to treat the CNS injuries was recognized by Govt. of India with “Hind Rattan Award 2012” (Jewel of India) on the eve of 63rd Republic Day of India 25th January 2012 and Mahatma Gandhi Pravasi Gold Medal on October 12, 2012 in House of Lords, London, UK followed by Prestigious Gujarat Govt. Award “International Visionary Award 2012” in Ahmedabad, Gujarat on Nov 23, 2012. His research on co-morbidity factors e.g., hypertension or diabetes is recognized by Govt. of India’s “Bharat Jyoti Award 2013” (Glory of India), New Delhi on Jan 12, 2013. Dr Sharma also received the highest Award of the Govt. of India “Navrattan Award 2013” (Nine Jewels of India) on the eve of 64th Republic Day of India (25th January 2013) and Sword of Honor on the eve of 66th Republic day of India Jan 25th, 2015. On his works on “Nanowired cerebrolysin in Neuropathic Pain” Hari Sharma is awarded the Prestigious US TechConnect Global Innovation Award 2013 at the National Innovation Summit & Innovation Showcase, Washington DC May 12-16, 2013. Hari Sharma is designated Poster Judge in Annual Meetings of American Association fo Advancement of Science (AAAS) Baltimore, MD (1996); Chicago IL (2014) and San Jose CA, (2015). Dr. Hari Sharma is married to Aruna Sharma (nee Bajpai) since 23rd April 1979 and has two sons. His political affiliations belong to Swedish Social Democrat Party (Socialdemokraterna, Sverige) where he is associated with the development of Education and Research matters in Sweden actively.

Prof. Han-Yong Jeon, male, geosynthetics/technical organic materials researcher, graduated from textile engineering department, Hanyang University in 1979. He worked for Hyejeon College, 1982-1990 and Howon University, 1990-1992, Chonnam National University, 1992-2005 and now works for Inha University. Since 1998, he is the director of Geosynthetics Institute (USA)-Korea Directory. From 2008-2012, he worked in International Geosynthetics Society as Council member (2006~2012) and he was the 6th president of Korean Geosynthetics Society (2011~2013). Also, he is members of ASTM D35 and ISO TC221 on geosynthetics from 1998. Now he is the current 32nd President of Korean Fiber Society (2014~2015). He has published more than 782 papers in domestic and international conferences. He wrote 17 texts including 'GEOSYNTHETICS’ and also published 107 papers in domestic & international journals. He has awards of Marquis Who'sWho - Science and Engineering in 2003~2014 and Top 100 Scientists in the World: 2005/2011 of IBC (International Biographical Centre, UK). Also, he got the 33rd Academy Award of Korean Fiber Society in 2006 and “Excellent Paper Award of 2012” by The Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies.
